Early Christmas Eve: 24th Dec (6.40pm) Pathfinder Primary
With the weather looking bleak, we are moving inside. please wear a mask, and join us for a short (40min) Christmas Communion lit by tealights and glowsticks. Please try to arrive at 6.30pm so we can ensue everyone feels safe where they are seated.
This short early service will see our celebrations coincide with midnight in Pakistan... and still get home in time for bed! So wrap up warm (the windows will be open) and join us for a small amount of socially distanced singing, poetic reflections by candlelight, and sharing in (gluten-free) bread.
Our Christmas Communion will premiere on YouTube (and linked here) at 6.45pm on Christmas Eve. If you can''t join us in person at the Primary School, why not watch along from home? Or play the video at the end of your evening, as Christmas Eve tips into Christmas Day.
Christmas Morning: 25th Dec (9.30-11.30am) Pathfinder Primary
Those of all traditions and none are invited to a FREE breakfast of hot chocolate, bucks fizz and pastries (from 9.30) and light-hearted carol singing (starting around 10.15). There will be crafts, jigsaw, and space to simply chat with friends old and new.
You can head off afterwards,, or join Pathfinder Church Northstowe in retelling the Christmas Story, and watching our rather special Christmas Video, featuring some familiar sights.
We'll end by 11.30am
Sponsored by local organizations including Bar Hill Tesco and Pathfinder Church
Now with pop up food hub!
We know many people's plans are having to change at the last minute. So if, for any reason at all, you find you might need some extra fresh fruit and veg, come down to the pop up Food Hub as part of the Community Christmas Breakfast on Christmas Morning.
Thank you to Bar Hill Tesco for sharing their resources in this way, and helping make this a more sustainable community. The food will be items with very short shelf life left after the shop shuts on Friday night. We'll share an update on Christmas Eve once we know what is available.
Happy Christmas! — feeling thankful.
Whether you join us in person or online, remember #YouAreNotAlone
Unless restrictions change, we're encouraging everyone attending our in person events to LFT beforehand, masks (unless exempt or under 12), use hand sanitizer, and we will have lots and lots of ventilation. So, whether we are inside or out, do wrap up warm and join us! And please stay in touch even if you don’t feel comfortable mixing: we’ll do our best to keep you connected (as with this week’s YouTube playlist)
A rough idea of numbers would be REALLY HELPFUL. (We anticipate there being space for extras to slip in on the day, so don’t panic if your plans change)
- Enjoy our Advent Music, chosen for each week of Advent (many recorded by our musicians)
PATHFINDER CHURCH NORTHSTOWE are delighted to be able to join with the wider community at the Winter Festival in NorthstoweFind out about all the festive events happening in Northstowe at northstowewinterfestival.co.uk
Our Gathering on the first Sunday of Advent ended with these words, before a procession led by the hand-woven Willow Heart took us to the Nativity Scene, and the final Dismissal:
A taste of our Advent compline at "Chicken Soup for the Soul", with poetry by John Butterfield (We come expecting nothing) and Chris Polhill (Bearers of hope), published in 'Winter'.
"I don't believe in Away in a Manger": A #TeamBelieve reflection from Pathfinder Church Northstowe.
On this first Sunday of Advent, we are reflecting on what it means to Be Loved and Given Purpose, and will be singing this live in our Sunday afternoon gathering as well as sharing this so you can worship with us from where you are.
Welcome to Week 2! This advent, we're recording and sharing music to help us explore the traditional Big Questions explored in this waiting season - death, judgement, heaven, and hell. On the second Sunday of Advent, our musicians helped us think through themes of justice, salvation and God's righteous Kingship, feeding into a bigger conversation about judgement. We'll pick up on this more within our Advent 3 Sunday gathering too, as we celebrate Heaven breaking in... As we head into the final week of Advent... here's the plan...
Perhaps the cutest rendition of O Come O Come Emmanuel you've ever heard, as one of our youngest singers starts our final week song.
On Wednesday, we reflect on the coming of the Light of Life
Thursday's O Antiphon brings us a step closer to Christmas....
And on Christmas Eve, we reflect with the famous words of Isaiah chapter 9, as we prepare to meet the Prince of Peace
Finally, on Christmas Day, our musicians invite us to into the Nativity Scene to sing "in the bleak midwinter"

Sunday 5th Dec (10am-2pm) Pathfinder Primary
Pop up Carols, Refreshments and Listening Post raising funds for International Justice Mission
at the Northstowe Christmas Craft Fair
Huge shout out to Hannah Rose Batchelor for organizing such a brilliant community event today. The Christmas Craft Fair was a great success! Over in the Refreshments area, the team from Pathfinder Church Northstowe really enjoyed teaching so many children how to make origami hearts; talking about who we love; and making this beautiful heart-tree together. As we tucked into mince pies and mulled wine, we made heart-shaped Christmas Tree decorations as a reminder that we too are loved. And to top it all, the band brought some festive cheer as people browsed the many other wonderful stalls. Well done Northstowe!
Pause Day art display, part of the inaugural Art @ The 3 Pavilions displays:
"I believe the pictures we take & share have the power to change how we see and experience life.""
Steve Radley, founder: SOULFUL VISION
One wet early-summer day, just as the 2021 lockdowns were easing, photographer Steve Radley joined Pathfinder Church Northstowe and local residents, young and not-so-young, for a Pause Day. In small groups, they explored Northstowe, using smart phones to produce the images that make up this display. Image speaks to us at an emotional and spiritual level; it allows us to hear what is going on within us. Different images speak to us in different ways; sharing what we notice helps us hear each other’s different stories building relationships, trust and love. So come, pause, and listen. What might you notice? Whose story might you hear?
Sunday 12th Dec (3.30-5pm) Pathfinder Primary
Join us worshipping together as a church family, with our new multisensory baby and toddler area, plenty of interaction for those of all ages, and space to simply be. Holding the mystery of Advent and Waiting together as we "sing of his coming"

Coordinated by Pathfinder Church Northstowe as part of the Winter Festival in Northstowe.
